Als W1555 delen we graag de aanmeldingen die we hebben ontvangen voor de open oproep van onze eerste openbare kunstwerkcommissie die op de rode gevel aan het begin van de Wolphaertstraat (15) zal worden geplaatst. We nodigen u uit om deel uit te maken van dit besluitvormingsproces en te stemmen op een van de onderstaande projecten. Over elk project kunt u verder lezen op onze website die u kunt bereiken via de QR-code op deze flyer.
1.Lobke van Aar
NL:Ik zou graag een compositie willen maken van allerlei mensfiguren in 3D die tezamen symbool staan voor de multiculturele diversiteit van
Oud-Charlois.
ENG: I would like to make a composition of all kinds of human figures in 3D that together symbolise the multicultural diversity of Oud-Charlois.
3.“Regen van Kralen” / “Rain of Beads” Ulufer Çelik
NL:Moge de ‘Rain of Beads’ (pailletten wand) ons helpen onze straat te beschermen tegen Nazar - Boze Oog, terwijl het ons geluk, overvloed en bescherming brengt!
ENG: May the ‘Rain of Beads’ (sequin wall) help us protect our street from Nazar - Evil Eye while bringing us good luck, abundance and protection!
5.“Doorzettingsvermogen is alles” / “Persistence is all” Petar Tuscan
NL: In een altijd groeiende stad, geleid door cultureel werkers en burgerverenigingen is
doorzettingsvermogen alles. Een neon lichtbord met veranderende kleuren
ENG: In an ever-growing city led by cultural workers and citizens’ associations is persistence itself. A customised neon led sign with changing colours

As W1555, we are happy to share the applications we have received for the open call of our first public artwork commission which will be placed on the red facade at the beginning of Wolphaertstraat (15). We invite you to be part of this
decision process and vote for one of the projects below. You can read further about each project
from our website which you can reach through the QR code on this flyer.
2.Escuela Garaje / Garage School
NL:We willen een tijdelijke school voorstellen, gratis en open voor iedereen in de culturele ruimte van W1555, om een collectief ontwerpproces voort te zetten.
ENG: We want to propose a temporary school, free and open to everybody in the W1555 cultural space, to proceed a collective design process.
4.“Hey, Mum” Dario D’Aronco
NL:“Hey, Mum” - is opgedragen aan alle vrouwen, moeders en kinderen die in de Wolphaertstraat, in Charlois, in Rotterdam, in de wereld wonen.
ENG: “Hey, Mum” - is dedicated to all the women, mums, and children living in Wolphaertstraat, in Charlois, in Rotterdam, in the world.
6.“Samen Chillen op zuid” / “Chilling together in the south” Mikołaj (Miko) Stojanowicz
NL: In dit project wil ik een transmedia-muurschildering maken die de kijker aanspoort om meer te leren
over de geest van Old Charlois en zijn mensen.

ENG: In this project, I’d like to create a transmedia mural that incites the viewer to learn more about the spirit of Old Charlois and its people
7.“Trojaanse olifanten” / “Troiani Elephanti” Marwan Ai Anaki
NL: Trojaanse olifanten gecombineerd met een webapplicatie dat een storytelling portaal biedt voor het kunstwerk. Het toont verschillende bewegingen en effecten.
ENG: A Trojan Elephant with a web application that will play as a storytelling portal for the mural and reveal different motions & filter effects
9.“Het Madeliefje” / “The Daisy” Eddy Kaijser
NL: De bloem is gemaakt van lokaal gerecycled plastic eventueel samen met bewoners verzamelen we plastic uit de buurt
ENG: The flower is made from locally recycled plastic. Possibly together with residents we collect plastic from the neighbourhood.

NL:“Een getekende interpretatie van een jamsessie op drums”
ENG:It is a drawn interpretation of a jam session on drums.
8.“Binoculair fotoalbum van Wolphaertstraatmensen/ people”
Maurice van Es & Luka Karssenberg
NL:Een werk dat in samenwerking met de buurt wordt samengesteld. Het bestaat uit een verzameling van persoonlijke foto’s, de lievelings foto’s van alle buurtbewoners.
ENG:A work that is put together in collaboration with the neighbourhood. It consists of a collection of personal photos, the favourite photos of all local residents.
10.Riq Etiq
NL:De verschillende materialen waarmee de figuren zijn afgebeeld reageren elk anders op de weersomstandigheden. Net als wij: de mens. Iedereen reageert anders op wat we meemaken.
ENG:The different materials in which the figures are portrayed, each react differently to the weather conditions, just like us as human beings, everyone reacts differently to what we experience.
